Te New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Coy., Ltd., Palmerston North report: At our annual Himatangi Cattle Fair on Monday, we, had a good yarding of cattle. The bulk of the entry comprised 18 mos. and 2yr. dairy heifers which met with little competiton, and ,ln most cases, prices, did not come up to vendor’s expectation. Empty cows, bullocks and dairy cattle sold freely at prices in favour of the vendors.

The market was easier yet we cleared the yard under the hammer: Fat cows £5/17/-, £6/5/-, £6/12/-, to £6/17/-; light cows £4/15/-, £5/-/-, to £5/12/6; f. arid f. cows £3, £3/10/-, £4 to £4/15/-; store cows £2 to £2/15/-; cull cows 20/- to 30/-; 15mos. jersey heifers £B/10/-; springing heifers £6. £7/15/-, to £B/10/-; springing cows £8 to £10; heifers in milk £5/10/-, £6 to £7/5/-; bulls £2 to £5.
