TALUNE’S LAST TASK
BREAKWATER AT WAIKOKOFXJ. [Per Press Association.] GISBORNE, Last Night. The Hinemoa, with the hulk Taluna in tow, arrived at Waikokopu yesterday. The hulk will be filled with boulders and concrete and sunk. Anchors have been laid and a tunnel driven into a cliff to- provide material for filling tho gap of 66 feet between the Talunc and tho shore. The sinking of the vessel will probably take place some time next week. [The Taluno was about 20 years ago one of the principal vessels of the U.S.S. Coy.’s fleet.]
