WHO’S HIS LADY FRIEND?
MEETING VISCOUNT’S BAD CHEQUE. Viscount Torrington was 'found not guilty. He gave evidence that he believed the cheque would be met by a lady friend paying in an allowance. Viscount Torrington who was arrested on October 1. at Yalding, Kent on a charge of offering a worthless cheque on a Nottingham Bank/ married a gaiety actress, but was divorced by her in 1921. HiS bankruptcy in 1919 included a debt of £IO,OOO to his first wife. Viscount Torrington was released on bail until October 9.
