Leave of absence until her health is restored was granted Mrs. L. a. Abraham at yesterday’s meeting of the Hospital Board. The man’s point of view—The matron wants better facilities for drying the increased washing at the Hospital, but the Board at yesterday’s meeting considered that certain appliances used in connection with the sick-bed were more urgent and as finances will not permit of both requisites being purchased at the one time, the matron will have to put up with the inconvenience. The question of revising the scale of salaries of probationers was referred to the executive of the Palmerston North Hospital Board: yesterday. Dr. Forrest stated that other hospital boards were paying £lO more than the Palmerston Worth Board and he considered that this might be one reason w r hy he had found it difficult to get probationers.
