GOOD SALES OF AYRSHIRES.
HEIFER SOLD FOR 87]gns. [Per Press Association.] INVERCARGILL, Last Night. Two good reduction sales of purebred Ayrshires wore concluded to-day. The first sale was that of the Ivanhoe stud property, of Mr A. M. Weir, when the top price for heifers was STJgns, paid for Ivanhoe Lena, unbeaten in the show ring as a yearling, the purchaser being Mr ,Tas. Henderson, of Glenham. The highest priced Ivanhoe yearling bull was bought by Mr F. Mills. Hawera, at COgns, after spirited competition. Prices were well maintained throughout. The second sale was of Allandaie Ayrshires, the property of Mr R, S. Weir. Individual prices were not so high, but the average was good. The top price bull was bought by Mr Donald McDonald, of Edondale. at 50 guineas, while the highest heifer went to another local breeder, Mr T. Dobbic, at Signs. These sales attracted buyers from ail over New Zealand and one animal was secured by Sir Harry Lauder.
