BRITISH .MONOPOLY'S FINANCE. [By Electric Cable —Copyright.] [Aust. and N.Z. Cable Association.] (Received Thursday. 7.35 p.m.) LONDON, July 8. The British Broadcasting Company's balance-sheet to March 25 shows an excess of revenue over expenditure, after making all the usual provisions, including £IO,OOO for a staff provident fund, amounted to £85,000. The dividend, which may not exceed 7.) per cent, annually, absorbs £5200, and the balance lias been carried forward. The report states that the surplus is only a paper one. since £59,000 has so far been ultilised in the construction and expansion of stations and further provision will be necessary in this connection.
