CAR OVER CLIFF.

THKKE OCCUPANTS INJURED. A car containing six people went over a steep cliff on Pakihiklra Iloact, near Huntervllle, on Saturday. Three were injured. It appeal’s that Mrs A. Woolford was driving, the other occupants being Mr Woolford, two children, Mr W. Strickland and the latter’s son Robert On a sharp corner of the road a tyre Plow out, and the car, uncontrolled for the moment, plunged over the cliff. Mr and Mrs S. Signal, who lived nearby, .and other neighbours, arrived quickly on the scene, and assisted by Constable H. J. Thompson, of Hunterville, made things comfortable for the unfortunates. After receiving medical attention, Mr and Mrs Woolford and their daughter wore motored to Palmerston North hospital. Mr Woolford sustained a fractured leg and severe injuries to his head, and Mrs Woolford a fractured ankle. The daughter injured an ankle more or less severely. Inquiry at the Hospital last evening elicited the information that the condition of Mr Woolford is serious, but that of the others, greatly improved
