At the Darlinghurst sessions, Terence O'Connor, aged twenty-six, was sentenced to three years’ gaol on a charge of theft. The police stated O'Connor was an escapee from Wellington Gaol, but although the New Zealand authorities desired his deportation, they were not prepared to pay for his extradition.
