NOTES OF THE DAY.
There passed away in Feilding on Monday afternoon an old resident, Mrs. Robert Palmer, in her 63rd year. Mrs. Palmer has resided in Feilding for over 30 years. She' is survived by her husband, two sons and a daughter, Mrs. A. Harden, of Whangarei, to whom much sympathy is extended. On Monday evening at the Foresters’ Hall the last game of the first round of the Friendly Societies’ card tournament was played, the scores being as follows: —Manchester Unity C crib, 9 euchre; Foresters. 10 crib. In euchre: Druids 10 qrib, 15 euchre; Kowhai Retaekah, 6 crib and 9 euchre. Next Monday evening a public card competition, for good trophies to be provided by the Friendly Societies’ Council, will be held in the Foresters’ Hall.
