TRAVERSTON RAILWAY DISASTER.

At the inquiry into the Traverston railway disaster, Henry Cook, driver of the leading engine, said ho did not know of the disaster till the Westinghouse brake pulled the train up. He sent his fireman back to And out what was the matter. The two engines would tend to deaden the effect of any dragging. The road was usually rough in several parts, duo to the sleepers not having been properly packed.
