Feilding and the surrounding: district has been wanting rain for some time, and the downpour experienced since Sunday night should prove most beneficial.

The famous Scottish basso, William Hueghan. is to give a return concert in Fcildih.tr during the present month. The Fell ding Magistrate’s Court is to sit to-day to hear charges of breaking and entering the premises of the Canadian Casing Coy., at Aorangi, which are to bo preferred against a man who was arrested last week in connection with the affair. Elsewhere on this page will be found an announcement concerning Messrs. Darragh & Son’s sale, in which further reductions have been made in the firm’s offerings of crockery and glassware. Tomorrow, the annual Kiwitca flower and produce show is to be held at Kiwitea. This popular event attracts considerable attention throughout the district annually and in spite of the number of postponements, tomorrow’s show promises to bo in every respect as comprehensive as that held previously. Golfers would do well to inspect the offering of clubs and balls at considerably reduced rates now being - made at the Feilding Fancy Goods Arcade (late Mclean’s). in Manchester street. Hockey and football requisites are also being offered at very low prices in order to clear the stock, Commencing at 1 p.m. to-day, at the Feilding Kaleyards, an unreserved dispersal sale of pedigree Clydesdales on account of the well-known breeder. Mr. L. T. Meehan, of Waituna West, will take place. This famous “Sunray” stock is well-known on this coast, as w'c-ll as across the ranges and an exceptional opportunity will be afforded both contractors, local bodies and farmers of obtaining the very best of draught horses offering. Approximately about forty horses will be offered and the auctioneers are Messrs. Murray, Roberts and Coy. and Messrs. Levin & Coy. |
