SALAMAN’S APPEAL

Lost Night, At the Police Court to-day, Mr Finlay, solicitor, asked that the sentence on Abraham Salaman, for allegedly attempting to receive money by false pretences, be increased to a month and a day, giving Salaman The right to appeal on a question of fact. Mr Poynton, S.M., declined, saying that the man had been swindling the public. Hr Finlay then said ho would exercise the right of appealing on a question of law.
