The headmaster (Mr A. W. Thompson), stated that the number of pupils attending the school at presexxt was greater than at the beginning of the year. The result of this increase had the effect of raising the school xxp to fixe, next grade. Fortunately for the school, it hail had a good staff, which had worked Very hard throughout the! year, both in the matter of teachixxg and sporting activities. However, the school will suffer a great loss next year through the resignations of Misses Piggott and M. Jamieson, who had always taken a great intex-cst m the girls. ‘Mr Thompson thanked alt those who Ixad given special prizes, for their generosity. He then spoke to those leaving school and asked them to always remember “West End” for, whatever success they had in the future., a little of the credit beipngoa to their first school.
