IN the matter of “ The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1913” and “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1920.” THE PALMERSTON NORTH BOROUGH COUNCIL HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that it proposes to raise a Special Loan of Thirty Five. Thousand Pounds (£35,000) at a rate of Interest not exceeding six per centum per annum, for the. purpose of enabling- the said Council tfuapply the said sum toward the cost of completing the Power House Station and Reticulation extending the transmission and distribution lines, purchasing I of plant, fittings, equipment, stocks, apparatus, machinery, meters, office llttings and requisites, and to provide financial assistance to consumers to enable them to connect with the supply.' . , And for the purpose of providing for the repayment of the said loan and for the payment of interest and other charges on or in connection with the Special Loan and a Sinking Fund of one per centum per annum, to appropriate and pledge as security a special rate of three-tenths (3-IDths) of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value of all rateable property in the Borough of Palmerston North, comprising the whole of the Borough,

Oil the basis of the unimproved value; such rate to be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and to be made and levied by resolution of the said Council, to be passed after the said Special Loan has been agreed to by the Ratepayers. The whole of the loan is to be repaid on -the expiration of ten years from the date of raising same. It is propt sed to pay out of the loan the cost of raising the loan and the interest and sinking fund for the first year during the construction of the works.
