A match between a team from Terrace End and a Takaro team, was in progress on the latter’s courts, when play was suspended owing to rain. Following arc the results of games played, Takaro playex-s being mentioned first: — Ladies’ Singles.—Miss Landers beat Miss Green, 7—6; Miss J. McFarlane beat Mrs Gardener, 7 —l; Mrs O’Kane lost to Miss Norman, 5 —7. Shcpperd, 9 —S, A. Roe lost to NcwGcnts’ Singles. Robinson beat son, C —9; Dixon beat Rennctt, 9 —5. Ladies’ Doubles. —Misses Landers and J. McFarlane lost to Miss Green and Mrs Gardener 6—7; Mrs Cook and Mrs O’Kane beat Miss Gibbs and Miss Norman 7 —3. Men’s Doubles. —A Roe and Dixon beat Newson and Rehnett 7—2. At the conclusion of play Takaro were leading by C .sets and 61 games to 3 sets and 46 games. A return match will be played at a later date.
