In the Commons, questioned regarding Marconi’s experiments in short wave directional transmission by wireless in relation to the projected Government stations, Mr Harts shorne declared that at present there was no evidence that the system was capable of maintaining regular and efficient communication of a continuous character for a long distance commercial service. Nevertheless Post Office stations were being erected at Rugby and would be capable of adaptation to 'the system if later considered desirable.
