There are persistent rumours in London that Earl Dudley is engaged to marry Miss Gertie Millar, the widow of Mr Lionel Monckton. So far there has been no denial and the “Daily Chronicle’’ states they will be married in Paris in April.

At the meeting of the St. Peter’s Ladies’ Guild yesterday afternoon a presentation was made- to their president (Mrs J. Hobbs), who is leaving the parish shortly. In handing Mrs Hobbs an umbrella, suitably inscribed, Mrs White spoke of the good feeling which existed between the members and their president, and wished Mrs Hobbs God-speed to her new home. Mrs Hobbs thanked the members for their very acceptable gift. Miss Edwards (sister of Mrs Hobbs) was also given a token of the esteem in which she was held by her fellow workers.
