Rider, a South African shoepbreeder, has arrived for the purpose of purchasing stud animals. Ho states South African farmers arc now devoting much attention to wool-raising realising that Merino sheep farmihg - is the safest proposition. He claims that within the. next twenty years. South Africa will be as great a wool-pro-ducing country as Australia, which he says is rapidly becoming a mutton producer, while South Africa is steadily evolving as one of the greatest wool producers of the world. There are great preparations for the welcome to the British squadron arriving on April 9, at the Royal Agricultural Society’s Show. The Show, both as regards exhibits ana prizes, promises to be a record. Great improvements in accommocla.tion for visitors have been made during the year. a
