Abraham presiding. Also present were 'Mesdames Fisher', HunterWill, Whyte, Langlcy, Penny, W. G. Miller, 11. Bennett, Sinclair, Spencer, Free, Grigor, Morris and Aitchison (secretary). Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames Stout, Paget, Rodgers, Ongley, Oakley and Miss Duff. , NURSE'S REPORT. Nurse Kearns reported that during the month there had been 30 new cases; visits to homes, 206; adults to office, 603; babies to office, 457. Visits to Foxton, 3; to homes, 9; adults to office, 24; babies to office, "2; sale of emulsion realised £2l 0,1; Of books, 14/S; donations in box £1 6/1; membership fees, £1 5/-; donations had been received from Mrs. Friedlouder (10/-) and Mrs. Hart (2/-).— Adopted. The secretary reported to having interviewed the Mayor of Levin in regard to extending the work of the society to that town, and that, in this connection, a meeting was expected to be called early in November. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded Mrs. Whyte' for kindly placing her bicycle at the use of the society for some months past. Decided to have a rest tent for mothers on the showgrounds during show week, and arrangements in this connection were left in the hands of the president, the secretary* and Nurse Kearns.

Nurse Hynes, assistant to Nurse Kearns, of the Plunket Society, tendered her resignation at the meeting o. the body yesterday. The resignation was accepted with great regret, anu the president, Mrs. L. A. Abraham, and other members of the committee, spoke in very appreciative terms oi the excellent work Nurse Hynes had done for the society while in Palmerston North. Nurse Hynes will leave shortly.for Wellington.
