RUGBY SUSPENSION.

MARIST CLUB APPEALS. [Per Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. The Canterbury Rugby Union tonight granted the request of the Marlst Club to send on an appeal to the New Zealand Rugby Union against the suspension imposed on it in respect of the attitude taken up by that Club in connection with the match against Otago ’Varsity for the Payne trophy. It was pointed out that the New Zealand Union had endorsed the suspension. The chairman (Mr A .Dey) remarked that in his opinion nothing could be gained or lost by sending forward the club’s application.
