THE HICKSON MISSION.

FORTY-FIVE NEW PLYMOUTH PATIENTS. TO COME TO PALMERSTON NORTH. It is definitely known that Mr James Hickson will not pay a visit to New Plymouth, the nearest centre on his itinerary being Palmerston 'North, and effeorts are being made to take thither those who for over two months have been carefully preparing for the mission.

It is hoped to be able to arrange a special train to carry patients from the parishes between New Plymouth and Waverley, and negotiations are in progress with the rail\/ay authorities.

From the area mentioned there are 152,patients anxious to go, the number from New Plymouth being 45. Offers have been received from one medical man and four nurses to accompany the patients on the train. Preparation services are regularly held in all the parishes concerned. Extensive preparations are being made for the reception, accommodation and care of patients at Palmerston North, and from every side come the most generous offers of heldp.— Taranaki "Herald."
