MANAWATU CRICKET ASSOCIATION.

MEETING OF COMMITTEE. The Mana.watu Cricket Assoeiatiou management committee met yesterday, F. J. Oakley presiding. There were also present Messrs. A. M. Ongley, F. S. C. Hubbard, M. Eglinton, and W. G. Millar (secretary). The secretary reported that the Y/.M.CA. had entered a Saturday third grade team and Retailers a Wednesday team. On the motion of Mr Ongley, it was resolved to enter a challenge for the Hawke Cup. It was decided that Senior Cup competition be started on Saturday next and the junior and third grade on the following Saturday, subject to the ground being in order. Fixtures were drawn as follow: October 6 and 13: R.S.A. v. High School No. 2 wicket; Railway v. Old Boys No. 1 wicket. October 20 and 27: R.S.A. v. Railway, No. 1 wicket; High School v. Old Boys, No. 2 wicket; November 3 and 10. School v Railway. No. 1 wicket; R.S.A. v. Old Boys, No. 2 wicket. HOLIDAY TOUR. Mr Ongley recoiled the tact that the Association had got itself into bad odour with the New Zealand Cricket Council last year, because it was not in favour of the M.CC. tour, and thought it was regarded more as a holiday than a cricket tour. U had since proved that that, the Association had not been very wide of the mark. He moved that the Association's delegate to the Council ask that the Association be supported with a. statement of the receipts and expenditure of the tour. Trie motion was carried. The annual report was adopted. .

CRICKET CLUBS. R. S, A. The annual meeting of the R.S.A. Cricket Club was held last night, Mr L. G. Goss presiding. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. Patron, Mr S. R. Lancaster; president, Mr J. Ireland; vice-presidents, Messrs. H. Collinson, A. E. Russell, H. N. Cooke, F. J. Nathan, Cam Penman, H. Ashworth, R. V. Hardy, A. McHa.rdy, and Dr. D. H. Bett; club captain, Mr C. Burgess; secretary and treasurer, Mr A. George; management committee: Messrs. G. Perrin. L G. Goss and T. Bee; delegates to Association. Messrs. L. Goss and A. Grant.

The club subscription was fixed at 25/ for seniors, £1 for juniors and 2/6 for third grade. Practice nights were fixed for Tuesdays and Thursdays, and a praotice for Saturday next. Ten new members were elected. RETAILERS. The annual meeting of the Retailers' Club was held last evening, Mr W. Boon presiding over a large attendance. The annual report stated, inter alia, thaf the club had passed through A very enjoyable season. Although the club did not retain the Moore Cup (won the previous season) owing to several prominent players leaving to join their own Saturday clubs, it was felt that the team was to be commended on the high standard of cricket shown during the. past season. Messrs Wilson, Bramwell, Moor« and Boon were to bo complimented for highest averages shown during the season; It was to be noticed in • the b'alancja-sheefc that the .club fliad a debit balance of 4/3, which, all things considered, was quite satisfactory. Wright, N H, Sinclair, H. B. Tucker; secretary and 'treasurer, Mr W. H. Skinner; Club captain, Mr W. Wilson; vice-captain, Mr F. Allen. The subscription was fixed at £1 1/. Six new members were elected.
