REVALUATION OF FARMS.
MISCONCEPTION CORRECTED.
[Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, Last Night. The following official statement haa been Issued: —"Attention has been drawn to a telegram from Hawera in referenco to a resolution passed at a meeting of the Sautk Taranakl Returned Soldiers' Association, protesting that tho provision made in. the form ■provided for ro-valuation was inadequate in respect of the period # allowed over which to estimate the productive yield of a farm, viz., from February 28 to June 30. The Minister points out that there is quite a misconcep- . tion on the point, as no mention is made of tho date February 28 on the form whereon tho applicant is asked to supply estimated receipts and expenditure for the 12 months ending # June 30, 1924. There is no suggestion whatever that the farm will bo valued on its productive value for only 12 months, and, as a matter of fact, the form, when filled in, is merely for the information) of tho district committees The district committees are quite unhampered as to the manner in which they will determine the valu. ation of any farms."
