The reply was that thej most profitable carcase to catch the prime grade was that which went the! nearest to 421 b., without going lntoi the next grade. He was of the opinion that the country sends away far too many carcases under 361 b. weight. JOHNSONVII/LE SALE. Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., and Wright, Stephenson, Ltd., roport on their Johnsonville sale, held yesterday: A good quality yarding of ■both sheep and cattle. The sale was fairly keen, all stock being keenly competed for. We quote: Best ox £ll, ill 2/6, £ll 17/6 to £l2 12/B.j good £lO, £lO ,2/6, ilO 10/- to £lO 15/-; heavy cows, £l2 5/-; best wethers, £2 2/- to £2 5/6; heavy .-ewes, 37/-, 37/6, 40/9 to 42/-; good, 31/-, 33/6 to 34/6.
