INQUEST ON GIRL'S DEATH. (Per Press Association). DUNEDIN, September 5. The inquest was resumed to-da> on the body of Gladys May McKenzie, who died at Ashburn Hall (a mental institution), at Dunedin, after being sent by motor from Geraldine. A verdict was returned that deceased died from acute bronchitis. The coroner expressed the opinion that a girl in that condition should not have been allowed to leave Geraldine without being carefully examined by the doctor in charge of the case at Geraldine Hospital. FELL DOWN LIFT SHAFT. AUCKLAND, Last Night. A girl. Myra Sylvia Penno, aged 17 years, fell down a lift in Endean's buildings. She was employed in a jam factory and left home at 2 p.m. yesterday, when there was nothing unusual in her appon ranee. There is no indication as to how the accident occurred. Her condition is critical.
