HALCOMBE NOTES.
(From Our Own Correspondent)
It is reported that Mr McLennan, Senr., is dangerously ill. His many friends far and near are anxiously waiting for a turn for the better. Halcombe’s household tanks were getting low and the owners were pru.vlng for rain, but now they are asking for just the reverse, having got their tanks full in two hours. Snow fell on the outskirts of Haicombe on Sunday, and no doubt the cold snap will kill new lambs, and also give the. cows a set back. The Rangitikei Maori team successfully held their own aaginst Wanganui yesterday, at Marten, winning by 25 to 6. Rangitikei were the winners of this match last year.
