SEA ADVENTURE.
STARTS FROM ADELAIDE. SIXTEEN THOUSAND MILES IN A YACHT. ADELAIDE, June 23.Promptly at three this afterno.on. Captain Arnold’s yacht, the Four Winds, cast off from her moorings at Port Adelaide, and stole down the river under motor-power on a cruise which will cover 16,000 miles, and take about six months to complete. „ Captain Arnold’s craft is of 26 tons, and was built at Mannum. on the Murray, especially for the voyage. Last week she navigated the Murray mouth, and has been at Port Adelaide since Monday. 3 After visiting Melbourne and Sydney, the Four Winds will sail for Fiji. From Suva the course will be laid towards the New Hebrides, and after travelling this group the Solomons will be visited. Papua will be the next destination, and, after calling at Samarai, the northern coast of New Guinea will be skirted. Passing between that island and Molucca, it is intended to sail through the Spice’ Islands. After calling at Macassar, several Javanese ports will be visited, and from Batavia the Four Winds will be steered through the Sunda Strait, headed south-east for Australia. Landfall will probably be made at the North-East Cape, and the coast followed to Fremantle. After a brief stay in Western Australia, it is hoped to reach Port Adelaide again by the middle of next December.
