MOTOR SMASH ON HUTT ROAD.

WELL KNOWN WELLINGTONIAN I>IES. [Per Press Association ] WELLINGTON, Last Night. A shocking motor fatality occurred on the Hutt road this evening, resulting in t'he death of a promininet resident of Wellington. Two other well known residents were injured and one removed to hospital. A car, driven by Mr. Adams, a share broker, left the city in. the evening, accompanied by Messrs. Turnbull, head of the firm of Turnbull and Jones and Ben Wilson, manager of the Government Tourist Department. The car crashed info a motor-lorry proceeding at a slow pace in the same diection, and the occupants were thrown from the car, the front portion of which was badly smashed. Dds. McEvedy and Mirams were soon on the soene, but Mr. Turnbull was fatally injured, and died in a few minutes. Mr. Wilson was badly hurt, an iron rod being driven into his side, and which had fo be cunt away. Mr. Wilson was sent to hospital. Mr. Adams was not seriously injured and was able to proceed home. PERIL OF THE ROAD. BOY PALLS UNDER LORRY. AUCKLAND, Last Night. A boy aged eight, Eric Taylor, son of Mr. Frank Edward Taylor, a builder of Glenfleld, North Shore, was run over by a motor-lorry and killed instantly. It is thought ho was running alongside the lorry and slipped, falling under the back wheel.
