Whilst this action on our part involves extreme hardship and heavy financial loss to us, we are compelled to conform to the drastic By-law recently adopted by certain County Councils, which By-law empowers them to close all roads under their control during May, June, July, August and September in each year . Fines totalling £SO and costs were, imposed on several members of this Association by the Stipendiary Magistrate in Wellington last week for con travening the above By-law.
