RONGOTEA NOTES.

(From our own Correspondent, - ) The committee of tho Rongotea Horticultural Society met on Monday ovoning, those present being, Mr. J. C. mover president, in the chair, Me«dames'Bower. Davison, McCall, Will. Keid, blisses Dower and Smith, Messrs Rower, Clnasen, Liggins, Hancox, McCall Will ami Yarrall. Two accounts were passed for payment'. After soni. discussion, it was decided to hold (he spring' show on November 27. Mr. .T Bower stated that he wished to retire from the position of secretary, but would assist on show days, in the capacity of assistant secretary. Mr. lags-ins proposed that Mr. Yarrall be asked to accept the position, as he had the experience, and would be able to work in harmony with Mr. Bower. Mr. Yarrall said that rattier than s©e the society lapse for want of a secretary, he would accept the position, though he would have welcomed a rest for 12 months at least. It was decided to make a donation of £1 1/- to Mr. Morris, who bad generously allowed the use of his room for meetings. The schedule for the Bulb Show was revised, and a few alterations made. In future the children's decorative will all be done in the ball on the morning of the show. Schedules for the Bulb Show, to be held on September IS, will shortly be available from the secretary. On Wednesday evening, the residents of Rongotea and district will have an opportunity of -seeing the famous film showing the manufacture of Studebaker car?, kindly lent by Messrs. Adams, Ltd., of Palmerston North. Messrs. Guymer and White have generously offered to show the film free of charge, as the proceeds are to benefit the school library fund. RUGBY FOOTBAMi. On Saturday next the first representative match to be played in Rongotea. will take place between Oroua and Te Kawau Sub-unions. School children will be admitted to the grounds free of charge. Arrangements are being made to entertain the members of both teams at dinner after the match. TE KAWAU RUGBY SIR-UNION. The following have been picked to represent To Kawau Sub-union in the match against Oroua Sub-union juniors, to be played at Rongotea on Saturday next: Toke, A. Sanson. R. Scott, D. Sanson. W.
