MEETING OP UNION. The management committee of the Manawatu Rugby Union was held last night, Mr. A. M. Ongley presiding. There were also present, Messrs. W. Carruthers, ?\ T . Whisker, J. A. Colquhoun, W. Thompson, A. Hannay, A. W. Thompson, W. IT. Seward and C. W. White. In the absence of Air. J., B. Proud, Mr. White acted as secretary. CORRESPONDENCE. From the Railway Department acknowledging the union's complaint of unsatisfactory arrangements for the. conveyance of the Manawatu representative football team to Levin on June 2:'.. It would be duly enquired into.—Received. From the Marlborough Union, enclosing itineraty of its northern tour. —Received. GENERAL. Mr. C. W. White was appointed manager of the representative team to meet the Marlborough Union on Saturday. A grant of CO was made to the Referees' Association. Ifj was decided to warn two spectators that if their insulting behaviour on tihe ground was repeated, they would b e warned off all grounds under the union's control. Mr. Hannay moved that the secretary procure badges for members of the union.—Carried. Mr. W. Thompson moved, and it was decided i'hat the whole management committee be appointed to keep the ground clear of spectators. It was resolved that High School play Old Hoys as a curtain-raiser to the match with Marlborough. Mr. W. Thompson drew attention to the fact that the union's rule against the transfer of players from club to club was .likely in the case of disbanded clubs, to drive players into other games.

The chairman thought that any alteration would defeat the purpose ot the rule. Any rule would be bound to bring hardship upon a few. No action was taken.

Mr. Colquhoun asked for permission for High School seconds to play Dannevirke on July 18. —Granted. Mr. Whisker gave notice of motion medals be given to the winner* of the seven-a-sidc competition.
