:MARITi:\[E UNIONS TAKE ACTION. ["By Electric Cable—Copyright}. [Aust. and N.Z, Cable Association.] (Received Tuesday, 7 p.m.) SYDNEY. July 10. A conference of representatives of the maritime unions, representing 33,000 members, carried resolutions demanding a Royal Commission to enquire into tho foundering of the Sumatra and other vessels, with power to cover every activity :n relation to shipping, also that it be an instruction to all members immediately to notify the secretary of the Union of anything of a, suspicious nature tending to make a vessel unseaworthy.
