ONE DEATH IN DUNEDIN. FACTORIES HAMPERED. [Per Press Association.] DUNEDIN, Last Night. The influenza position has not improved. In fact, it may be said to be a little worse. The number of notifications for 24 hours ended noon today in Otago was five, Southland three, and Wallace two. One death occurred on Monday. The Government departments are all seriously hampered, though the municipal staffs have been more fortunate. Warehouses are not as badly affected as factories, iu which the absence of men who are connecting links, is causing much disorganisation. All the cify primary schools arc keepng open, but some in the country have elosed. The re-open-ing of the Boys' High School has been postponed for another day. TIMARU IN THE GRIP. SOME SCHOOLS CLOSED. TIMARU, Last Night. A mild form of influenza is very prevalent amongst the school children of Timaru, so much so. that the Boys' High School was closed at noon today till Monday next. There were 100 absentees, 20 being boarders. In the Girls' High School the absentees were about ten per cent of the roll, but it was not considered necessary to close this. The Timaru main (primary) school had 100 pupils absent yesterday, but the attendance was slightly better to-day. Other tawn schools have experienced the epidemic to a much less degree.
