Mr Charles Bowden, a, well-known and popular res'dent of Stanley Bay, Auckland, who was a so well-known in Palmerston North, died last week. He was employed as an accountant by Messrs. McKeown and Sons, and collapsed at his work in the firm's office, dying before a doctor could be summoned.! Mr Bowden, a married man with a family of five children, was 51 years of age. and was widely known in the Stanley Bay locality (says the Auckland "Star") because of his zeal and skill as a piper fisherman, and he .made many friends by his genial nature. To his acquaintances he had no appearance of of a 1 ing. He was well-informed with a good all-round knowledge of many things. He was a'so a, most active man in the very prime of life, and his "sudden death came as <i grea*- shock to his friends. The late Mr Bowden was a brother of Mrs A. J. Graham, of Palmerston North.
