ORIENT LODGE, 1.0.0.F.

The half-yearly installation mooting of Orient Lodge, was h.*ld in the Lodge Room, Church Street, on Friday, 6th July, Noble Grand Bro. E, Persson presiding- over a large attendance of members, visiting members from Feilding, Bulls, and Rua Tamikei Lodges being: prcsen*, thus showing- tho interest taken by members of the Order throughout the 'district, which at the present time is in a very flourishing condition. Correspondence Of a very lengthy nature, was satisfactorily dealt with, all of which met with the hearty approval of members of the Lodge. An invitation was received from Rnngitikci Lodge for this Lodge to pay an olhcial visit to their Lodge. A donation was granted by the Lodge to a very worthy appeal, this Lodge always being ready to give such assistance in times of trouble and distress. A letter of sympathy was also passed to P.G. Bro. W. McMinn, who has just suffered a bereavement by the loss of a daughter. Three new members were proposed for membership, thus showing the keenness of the members lo forge; the Lodge ahead. After the general business of the Lodge was satisfactorily dealt with the installation of oilicers was proceeded with, and in a very able and Officient manner by P.D.D.G.M. Bro. D. F. Smillie, ably assisted by D.D.G. Marshall, Bro. A. E. Matheson, D.D.G.W., Bro. J. Fahey, D.DU.S, Bro. H. J. Webb, and D.D.G.C.' Bro. J. Ax, the following officers were then duly installed into the respective chairs: Junior P G. Bro. E. Persson; N.G., Bro. W. P.'Casey; V.G., Bro. L. Barkla; F.S., Bro. D. F Srnilie; R. S., Bro. O. "W. Harris; treasurer, Bio. J. Fahey; \varden, Bro. A. Millar; Conductor, Bro. L. flames; R.S.N.G., Bro. IJ. Thompson; L.S.X.G., Bro. J Bell; R.S.S., Bro. Yule; L S.S., Bro. Tozer; R.S.V.G., Bro. Brewer; L.R.V.G., Bro. Peterson; 1.G., Bro. Andrews; Chaplain, Bro. P # J. Rabbie. After the installation ceremony the D.D.G.M., in a few well - chosen words addressed all the officers of tho Lodge. The Lodge was then closed in due form by the newly-in-stallod Xoble Grand. The officers and members then adjourned to the Forester's [-fall, where a large gathering of visiting members and Rebekhas and wives and friends of Orient Lodge were present, who spent the remainder of the evening in song and "tripping the light fantastic," which was carried on till well after midnight, when one and all voted it a huge success, and all are looking forward to the next installation ceremony.
