SLIP ON RAILWAY.
EXPRESS DELAYED. The southbound express was an hour and a-quarter late upon arrival in Palmerston North yesterday morning, due to a slip on the Main Trunk lino neaf Mataroa. A " Times" reporter, who interviewed one of the passengers upon the train's arrival here, was informed thap the express arrived at the obstruction ,to find gang at work upon a fall of clay in a cutting. Tt was then ju.v breaking day, and the station beins but about 100 yards distant, refreshments were easily available, which the passengers were extremely grateful to obtain, after their journey through snow-covered country.
