“MILESTONES” AT THE LYCEUM.
Modern love making and the sentimental courtship of olden times arc sharply contrasted in Abe original photo-play "Milestones," which was screened at the Lyceum last night before a splendid audience. Arnold Biinnett in‘lighting on the idea of contrasting The habits of thought of three successive generations, struck a goldmine of originality and the play has become a classic instantaneously. There is grim humour in the inability of old age to remember its youth. The man who defied convention in his own younger days is only too ready to inflict his will on his children, and the man who enthused at an invention in his youth is ready to sneer at the new idea just as readily as his elders did in their day. The last episode of modern imes, however, shows that youth has come into its own. There is an excellent supporting programme, including the shriek comediajV Larry Semon, in “ The Show.” A special matinee is being held this afternoon at 2.30, and the final screening takes place to-night. To-morrow and twice on Saturday the usual big Fox attractions will be presented headed by William Russell in an exciting six-part feature, "The Great Night,” and that king of comedians, Lupino Lane in "The Pirates.”
