One thousand soldiers and bandits from Honan arrived ten kilometres from Hankow and demanded 150,000 dollars and ammunition as the price of departure. The demand being refused, the foreigners became alarmed and fearing further trouble armoured cars, each carrying 40 picked soldiers with machine guns, are being attached to the trains on the Pekln Hankow railway.
