Passers-by in Cuba street yesterday must have wondered at the sounds of juvenile merriment issuing from the Oddfellows' Hall. A peep inside would have shown a happy band of about sixty children enjoying themselves under the watchful care of a number of well-known Palmerston ladies. The occasion was a return of hospitality by the Willard Home in grateful recognition of many kindnesses received from All Saints' Children's Hom e in Ferguson street. 'The Mayoress (Mrs F. J. Nathan), who has always taken a keen interest in the Willard Home, having been a member of the com. mittee from its inception, was an ac. tive worker at the function, and had .he assistance of the other members of the committee, together with the matrons of the two homes—Mrs Carpenter (All Saints') and Miss Andcr. son (Willard). After a very enjoyable afternoon the children of the two! homes were entertained at a jolly tea, which was to them a perfect finish of a happy day.
