A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.

GENERAL COMMITTEE. The regular monthly meeting of the general committee of the Manawatu and West Coast A ; and P. Association was held yesterday morning, Mr K. Dalrymplc presiding. A welcome was extended to Cr. McLeavey, who with Cr. Canton, represents the Borough on the committee, and to Mr R. S. Abraham, an old member. CORRESPONDENCE. From Mr F. Mcßae, thanking the Association for its sympathy in the recent sad accident. From Mr G. H. Espiner, thanking the committee for its generous recognition of the public services of the writer.—Received. From Mr M. A. Eliott, applying for six months' leave of absence from the Association.—Granted. From he New Zealand Meat Producers' Board, requesting the support of the Association in the "Eat More Beef" campaign.—Received. From tho Department of Agriculture, advising that His Excellency tho. Governor-General had .re-appointed Mr J. 11. Perrett as a member of the Board of Agriculture, the appoint-! ment dating from April 30.r-Received with acclamation. *

From the Department of Agriculture, forwarding: some literature relative to the World's Dairy Congress. —Refererd to smaller committee comprising the president, Messrs. S. R. Lancaster, F. Mcßae, and IX Buchanan, to decide on sending a delegate.

From the State Forest Service, stating that* though last year that body could not avail itself of the free space offered for an exhibit, if intended extending the exhibit this year, making it of more general interest. Sixty feet of frontage was required, if possible in the agricultural hall. "A."

From the North Island Sheep Dog Trial Association, advising that the dog trial of tho Palmerston North Association was being advertised through the annual report and balance sheet of association, and asking also if the Association intended sending a delegate to the annual meeting at Dannevirke on June G. Considerable discussion took place in regard to a proposed remit that' a disqualified exhibitor of cattle bo allowed to compete in the dog trials' section. Mr E. Short was finally appointed a delegate, with instructions to combat the proposal, and to endeavour to obtain an agreement to the views of the Association. ELECTION OF COMMITTEES. The election of committees resulted as follows: —Finance and executive: Messrs. H. Y. Leth bridge, A. Hannay, S. R. Lancaster, H. Akers, T. R. Hodder, M. A. Conway, W. F. Jacob, F. S. Mcßae and A. Sutherland. Vacancies on the general committee wore filled by the following:— Messrs. A. Marshall, H. R. Green, N. Gibbons, H. R. Beotham. J. Knight, W. G. Shannon and P. Raites. District representatives:-—Messrs B, Stuckey (Dannevirke), J. M. James (Mastrrton); H. G. Lewis (Wanganui): H. B. Lethbridge (Otaki); A R. Fannin (Taihape), T. H, MacNivcn (Hastings). GENERAL. Mr Hodder suggested that the Association representatives on the Board of Agriculture make up reports from time to time on the work being done, for tlie Association members to discuss the matters being brought before the Board, and for the general interest of the farming community.— Mr J. IT. Perrett, one of the representatives certified his willingness to do this. A vote of thanks was passed to the. Manawatu Racing Club for forwarding its annual subscription of £25 towards events calculated to improve the breeding of horses. It was resolved I hat the Dairy Show work, be done by the general committee. It was decided that all committees should not exceed 12, with a quorum i of 3.

Mr' A. O. Banner, now of Motueka, was accorded a hsarty vote of thanks for his past services to the Associate on.

Accounts totalling £598 3 2/1 were passed for payment.
