THE BOROUGH PLANT.
ITS DISPOSAL DISCUSSED. There was not altogether unanimity among members of the Manawatu. Oroua Electric Power Board yesterday when the executive committeo brought down a recommendation that the Palmcrston North Borough Council be asked if it is prepared to sell its electrical scheme to the Board, and that in the event of the Council being agreeable, the Board's engineer be instructed to prepare a report for consideration. Mr Nash suggested that the Board go into committee, not because there was anything to hide, but it would en_ able those present to speak freely and more than once, a restriction which iopea Council imposed. This was lagreed to. After full consideration, punctuated with a little cross.fire. it was decided, on the motion of Mr Nash, and seconded by Mr F. W. Arbon, that the recommendation be adopted. The matter was brought up at last night's meeting of the Borough Council, when it was decided to refer the [matter to the electrical committee. Cr. Oram was elected to fill Cr. pSliott's position on the committee in ithe interim.
Cr. Fitzherbert moved last night that when the are being considered, provision be made for a new carriers' stand, as the present one was an eyesore and inadequate. The matter was referred to the estimates committee. * .
