In the matter of ‘“The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913," and “The Municipal Corporations’ Act, 1920.” THE Palmerston North Borough Council hereby gives notice that it proposes to raise a Special Loan of Twenty-five thousand pounds (£25,000), at a rate of interest not exceeding six per centum per annum and a Sinking Ihond of One per centum per annum, for the purpose of enabling the Council to purchase, construct and erect plant, machinery, appliances and buildings necessary to complete the new Gas Works; purchase of land upon which to erect such plant, machinery, appliances and buildings; purchase and laying of gas mains where required and to make provision for the cost of contsruction of a Railway Siding and the removal and re-erec-tion of plant and machinery from the present Works. And for the purpose of providing for the repayment of the said loan, and for the payment of interest and other charges on or in connection with the Special Loan, and a Sinking Fund of One Per centum per annum, to appropriate and pledge as security a special rate of One-fourth of a penny in the pound, on the rateable value of all rateable property in the Borough of Palmerston North, comprising the whole of the said Borough, on the basis of the unimproved value; such rate to be an annually recurring rate luring the currency of such loan, and to bo made and levied by resolution of the said Council, to be passed after die said Special Loan has been agreed ;o by the Ratepayers. The whole of the loan to be repaid the expiration of ten years from the late of raising same.
