BURGLARS AT LONGBURN.

ATTEMPT ON SAFE. At about 2 o’clock yesterday morning, some person or persons unknown entered the Longburn Railway Station and, confident' in the knowledge that she night porter went off fluty at 11 p.m., and in the belief that they would not be disturbed at such an hour, made an attempt' to blow open the safe, filling the. lock with gelignite.. When the morning shift porter went on duty at 2 a.m., he obviously disturbed the party, finding t'he safe in the condition described, through no tools were about.

It was discovered that the burglar or burglars had gained admission through one of the windows. Nothing beyond the safe had been touched. Detcctive-Sci’gennt Quirke and Detedtive I-lolmes have the matter in hand.
