LUCKY O’SHEA.’* A pleasing feature of the productions by the Allan Doone Company Is that everything none is clean and and the droll situations always depend on merit of acting and flashes of wit, and not any departure irom a worthy standard. By- maintaining this high level Mr Doone is strengthening tho reputation that he wins by his acting—it is to attain a striking success as an actor, and it is well to know that It is gained by such admirable methods as Mr Doone adopts. There is something about the simple little plays that Mr Doone and his excel, lently balanced company produce which the audiences, too, enjoy-, in a way that s not quite the same as in other dramas. Their home, ly note is appealing in a spec al sort of fashion, so are the sweetness of the atmosphere, tho rhyme of jollity of the interpretation and the sprightly melody of the music. Mr Doone and his company will appear in Palmerston North on Friday and Saturday-, May 18 and 19.
