ROSY, “Arabia”—Tom Mix’s latest picture, is different from the usual “horsey” comedy-drama, and is attracting good crowds to the Kosy_ There is also showing a flue Suushine comedy, and the serial. PALACE. "Flesh and Bloocl ( ” a First National drama, starring Lon Chaney, is a splendid picture, showing to. what lengths a good man will go to give his daughter happiness. This is well worth seeing. EVERYBODY’S TO-NIGHT. “ONE WEEK OF LOVE.” The big Selznick special, “One Week of Love,” which is to commence a four night's season to.night at Everybody’s, is by all accounts worthy to bo called a superfeature. It tells of Elaine Hammcrstcin, a spoiled society beauty t who falls back upon excitement for entertainment, and the more dangerous it is the better she likes it. So Elaine challenges her society lover to an aeroplane race; he returns quite all right, but Elaine gets lost in the fog and crashes on tne mountain tops in Mexico, through the roof of a hovel which houses a renegade American engineer, who has allowed his vices to submerge him, and two greasers who suggest the last word in bestiality. The Mexicans toss for her, but Tearle buys her for a and adopts caveman tactics. Of course, you know what follows Elaine’s fearlessness and charm break tho outward shell of him, and he plays fair, but not until the action has swallowed up several reels. He ultimately brings her lover to her, and sends the pair back to civilisation. But the end is not yet, for the main sensation in the film —tho plunging of train into the swollen flood which has swept the bridges be. fore it, has still to come. Tearle, of course, gets there in tho nick of time, and saves her, the situation jolting him into declaring himself, so there is the final satisfying clinch. The cast is adequate. Conway Tearle, as the engineer, possibly doing the best work of his career. The main strength of tho picture undoubtedly Ues in the fine scenes between the two principals in the mountain cabin. Wo do not remember having seen any picture in which two, characters sustain the full story for so long; a period. Kate Lester is as good as ever in a congenial role, and Hallam Cooley is adequate in the little he has to do. “Skipper” Francis, the author and composer of the new song hit, “One Week of Love, ’ will sing the special song number at the screening.
