COULDN'T PACE DIVORCE COURT.
CO-RESPONDENT SUICIDES. [Per Press Association.] DUNEDIN, East Night. Albert James Goding, forty-three years of age, living with his wife and four children at 86 Dundas Street, was found dead in the kitchen at his home at C. 30 this morning. Ellen Goding wife of deceased, deposed that he had ■been worrying about a divorce case in which he was co-respondent, and bad made some remarks about doing away with himself. Witness saw deceased for the last time about 7 o'clock yesterday, and going into the kitchen this morning she found him lying on the floor with the gas tube in his mouth and a coat over his head. The gas was turned on and life was extinct. Witness was going to commence divorce proceedings against deceased after his own case was over.
Elizabeth Jane Stewart said she had known deceased for the last six years and saw him at her home in Grange Street last night. He seemed worried over a divorce case which was pending. Her husband was taking proceedings, in which deceased was corespondent. Deceased said he would see witness again. Witness was living apart from her'husband. The Coroner returned a verdict of suicide by coal gas poisoning.
