The V.A.T.C. spring meeting was continued to-day at Caulfleld in fine weather, with a large attendance. There was a big field in the Mona Nursery. Royal Thought made a good run in the straight, and won well. He cost his owner (Mr Eccles) 325gns. Great excitement was caused by the defeat of Eurythmic in the Herbert Power Stakes. Purser, after lying sixth at the mile, was third into the straight. It was a slow-run race at the beginning, but the last half-mile was covered in 48ssccs, and the last six furlongs in 1.14 ii.
