SMOKE CONCERT.

PJEILDING FOOTBALL CLUB. Some seventy members of the Feilding Football Club and their friends attended a Smoke concert in the Dainties last evening. Mr T. Collins, the president, was in the chair. After tho loyal toast had been honoured, Mr Southey Fowler proposed the toast of the Feilding Football Club. He had been 33 years interested in football in Feilding and gave some interesting reminiscences of the early days. They had this season a record to be proud of. The seniors had played fourteen matches, Won eleven, lost two and drawn one, and had scored 215 points with only 44 against them. The juniors were runners-up for the Rodgers Cup, the thirds runners-up for the Anderson Cup and the fourttis had played eight matches, won eight, scored 147 points and their line had only been crossed twice. They were under a debt to Mr Jimmy Ryan for his services. Good material was coming on and he hoped soon to see Feilding represented in an All Black team.

The president proposed the health of the Manawatu Rugby Union, responded to by Air J. B. Proud, "Sister clubs was proposed by Mr T. Pagan and replied to by M, A, S, Faire. "Kindred Sports" was supported by Mr Hoy Micrs and Mr Lange. "Referees' Assiciation" was proposed by Mr Banner and Messrs Shakes and White responded. The toast of the "president and vice-presidents" was proposed by Mr Proud and responded to by Messrs Collins. Giller, Pagan and Sands. Mr Proud proposed the toast of the secretary, Mr Miers, who suitably replied. Mr Giller was entrusted with the toast of the "Press," and Mr Proua "The Ladies." Songs were given by Messrs Dumraah, H. G. Shakes, Houston, K. L. Bees, Banner, Pianoforte solos by Messrs Goulding- and short stories by .Mr Pa ire. Messrs Goulding and Ben made very efficient accompanists. Mr Sands announced that he waa presenting two gold medals for competition next season, the conditions to be left to the committee.
