Ernest Techow admitted he was aware of the plot to assassinate Herr Rathenau and that he drove the car from which the shots were fired. President Ebert has issued a decree stating: that members of secret societies planning the murder of prominent people are liable to the death penalty or penal servitude for life. Anybody knowing the existence of such societies is liable to penal servitude if he does not inform the authorities, or does not warn anyone threatened thereby. LUDENDORFF'S SECRETARY. (Received Sunday, 7 p.m.) BERLIN, June 80. Gunther was Ludendorff's secretary. The Nationlist party furnished him with papers, whereby he could use various names. DESTINATION UNKNOWN. (Received Sunday, 7 p.m.) BERLIN, June 30. Dr Helfferich has tied from Berlin for an unknown destination. Excitement prevails in the provincial towns, furious mobs invading Monarchists' houses and throwing pictures and busts of the Kaiser into the streets.
