At yesterday's meeting of the Manawatu A. and P. Association, Messrs R. D. anl J. Knight were appointed delegates at the annual conference of the New Zealand Clydesdale Horse Association, which is to be held in Dunedin on May 31st.

A large milk-supplier to the Greytown cheese factory states that the difference between the price rejected by the company at the beginning- of the season and that which they will receive for their cheese will mean a sum of £2OOO less to him on the season's operations.

There was a large yarding of fat sheep at Burnside on Wednesday, some 3580 being 1 penned, says the "Otago Daily Times." Of this number 1350 were bought by Messrs Armour and Company's representative. The pasteurising- plant ordered by the directors is expected in the first week in December."

From Mr. Maurice Cohen accepting the position of the Society's representative at the, conference of National Sheepbreeders Association to be held at Cambridge (England) in July. From Mr. R. M. McKnight, thanking the' committee for electing- him a life member to the Society, but pointing out that he still desired to remain a subscribing member. —Received with thanks. From the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association enclosing the following remit:—"The X.Z. Council of Agriculture as at present constituted, to elect eight representatives on the Board Of Agriculture, I four representing the North Island J and four representing the South Island, and the Government to appoint two representatives; the Minister of Agriculture to be president of the Board. The Board of Agriculture to have full control of the policy, general administration, and officers of present Department of Agriculture and of agricultural education in general. The Board to meet at least four times a year and discuss the policy of the Department. It was resolved to consider the matter at the Conference of North Island A. and P. Associations to be held at Palmerston North during the coming Winter Show. From Mr. J. A. Nash. M.P., forwarding a copy of a letter received from the Minister' of Railways declining to agree to the Association's request that school children should be carried free of charge to attend the Winter Show. —Received.
